What We Do

Our goal is simple: to help as many street dogs as possible by providing care, nutrition, and medical treatment while also focusing on long-term solutions like sterilization programs. In the future, we plan to work with local schools to promote responsible pet ownership and the lifesaving benefits of sterilization, building a more compassionate future for Thailand’s street dogs.  Keep reading to learn more about the work we do and how you can help.

The Haven

Nestled in the lush, green hills of Maenam, The Haven is more than just a shelter—it’s a home for over 40 rescued pier dogs, giving them the safety, care, and love they never had on the streets. Unlike the struggles of their past, life here is about comfort, companionship, and second chances.

Our Haven Hounds live in carefully managed packs, surrounded by banana trees, shady spots, and freshly dug cool-down holes (courtesy of our resident landscapers 🐶). Thanks to one legendary donor, each pack has its own Sala—a raised shelter that keeps them off the wet ground during rainy season and provides extra shade year-round. And because comfort is key, they even have solar-powered fans to keep them cool!

Every dog at The Haven receives daily walks, nutritious food, fresh water, medical care, and most importantly—endless love from our team and volunteers. Most of our Haven Hounds are up for adoption, eagerly waiting for the perfect home, whether in Thailand or abroad. For those who, due to age, illness, or temperament, aren’t suited for adoption, The Haven is their forever home, where they’ll be spoiled rotten for the rest of their days.

Visitors and helpers are always welcome—whether you want to help out, go for a walk with a Haven Hound, or just experience the magic of this special place, we’d love to have you.

Pangka Pier

Also known as Coral Harbour Pier, Pangka Pier is where our rescue efforts first started, and to this day, it remains a critical location for street dogs in need. Tucked away from the tourist crowds, this secluded public pier is home to over 50 stray dogs, who rely on us for daily food, fresh water, and essential medical care.

But life at the pier is tough. It has become a dumping ground for unwanted dogs, abandoned by both locals and foreigners. While some are lucky enough to find homes—mostly puppies—many are left behind, struggling to survive.

Despite rescuing over 40 dogs last year, more continue to arrive, and the cycle never stops.

We are there every single day, not just feeding the dogs but also providing preventative medicine, like flea and tick treatments—essential in preventing tick fever, one of the biggest killers of dogs on Koh Samui. We also offer emergency care, monitor the health of the differnt packs, and work to keep the peace between dogs and the local community — sadly, not everyone's happy to have all the dogs there.

While some of these dogs will always call the pier home, we are constantly working to find adopters—both in Thailand and abroad—for those who are ready for a second chance. Interested in visiting or adopting a pier dog?

Koh Madsum

Just off the coast of Koh Samui, Koh Madsum (also known as Pig Island) is famous for its free-roaming pigs, who bask on its sandy shores while tourists snap photos and soak in the tropical scenery. But what many don’t expect is that the island is also home to a pack of resilient beach dogs—playful, loyal, and full of personality.

These island pups were once tiny, tick-covered strays, struggling to survive. But thanks to ongoing care from our team—especially Dee, who has been with them from the start—they have grown into healthy, confident dogs. They’re now a beloved part of the island experience, greeting visitors and even swimming out to meet us when we arrive.

We provide these dogs with regular medical care, food, and the love they need to thrive, ensuring they stay healthy and safe in their island paradise. If you’d like a more personal experience, we can arrange private trips to Pig Island before the crowds arrive, giving you the chance to meet these incredible dogs up close, learn their stories, and see firsthand the impact of our work.

Community Engagement

Our efforts extend beyond rescue and care, as we actively engage with the local community to raise awareness about stray dog welfare and promote responsible pet ownership. By fostering compassion and understanding, we aim to create a more compassionate environment for both humans and animals.

Emergency Response

Between The Haven and the Pier, we never turn a blind eye to a dog in need. Whether it’s a stray struggling to survive, a dog with a maggot-infested wound, or an injury from a scooter accident, we step in whenever we can.  Whether it's shelter, medical care, or relocation, we ensure that these vulnerable animals are supported during challenging times.
